Bred by the Douglas Lake Cattle Company Ltd, Sonita's Last was a champion. Shown in cutting, he earned $35,356.64 in NCHA Earnings, an NCHA Bronze Award, as well as an AQHA Register Of Merit. In 1978, Sonita's Last placed 3rd in the NCHA Open. A true athlete himself, Sonita's Last also sired many outstanding performance horses including a World Champion and two Superior Award Earners. Shown in cutting Sonita's Last offspring have earned over $1,274,00 in NCHA Earnings and over 645 AQHA Points.

Siblings Sonita's Last is a half-brother to Moira Girl, 1962 Bay Mare sired by Mora Leo and out of Sonoita Queen. Moira Girl, who placed 2nd at the 1969 NCHA Open Finals, is the dam of Short Lena. Other half siblings include: Mister Zuger, 1956 Bay Gelding sired by Flagon, Dynamic, 1957 Brown Stallion sired by Flagon, Patsy Vee, 1959 sorrel Mare sired by Tommy Star, Soni Spring, 1960 Sorrel Mare sired by Poco Rey, Sonoita Tivio, 1963 Bay Mare sired by He'll Do Tivio. Sonita's Last also had three full siblings: Peppy's First, 1965 Bay Stallion, Sanctuary Sal, 1966 Bay Mare (NCHA Money Earner and AQHA Point Earner), Sonoita San, 1967 Bay Mare.

Sonita's Last died in 1988.
