BAR U CHAMP BINDER
1981 Silver Bay Stallion
Sire:  Bow Champ   Dam:  Miss Bar U Roxy
bar U champ binder (22K) Bar U Champ Binder (Champ for short) was born in 1981 on the famous Bar U Ranch near Black Diamond, Alberta, owned at that time by J. Allen Baker. LeRoy Vossler purchased the young stallion as a weanling from the ranches production sale.

When Champ became of age, LeRoy trained him for all around work and showing in Halter classes. Champ won the local Fall fair Halter class in Montney, BC.

Champ's outstanding qualities are his disposition, easy to manage, smooth to ride, well behaved on trail rides or in an arena.

Another outstanding quality of Bar U Champ Binder is his coloring. He is the first confirmed Quarter Horse to have the Silver Dapple gene. The test was completed on October 9, 2002. His color is a Bay with the Silver gene dilution, which lightens all his dark points such as legs, mane & tail.

Bar U Champ Binder sires offspring that are very trainable and have been trained for Roping, Reining, Ranch work, Pleasure and trail. A few have been shown at small shows, fairs and rodeos in Alberta and BC. He is also noted for passing on the Silver Gene to his descendants. One of his grandget that also has the gene is Miss Bar U Badlands.

Bar U Champ Binder is still being used as breeding stallion at Heartland Quarter Horses near Vanderhoof, BC.
